Had a great ride over the Chilterns with my mate Nick yesterday. Our circuit out of Marlow was blest with crisp sunny weather and five red kite sightings. Their size and majesty still look out of place in the Home Counties but I am not complaining.
Tucking into well deserved coffee and muffins at Costas after the ride, we came across this article about
Alan Sugar's recent conversion to road biking. I thought he had been looking trimmer in the more recent Apprentice series and now we know why. One downside is that it make him less irascible and therefore less entertaining.
I should also congratulate him on his choice of steed. My pride and joy is also a Pinarello. Although at one point it was worth more than my car I doubt whether mine is kitted out to Sir Alan's specifications. And he has three of them - one in each of his homes in London, Spain and Florida.
I also note that one particular cyclist had let the side down and left possible the most boring post I have ever seen on an article:
Great article, but I just wanted to point out that Sir Alan's wheels are not "Campagnolo Bora carbon wheel set, with ceramic bearings: £1,900".
They are in fact ZIPP 404 wheels at £1500 the pair (ceramic bearing upgrade +£750)

It was not me but I do have friends who would have spotted the anomaly.
It was indeed a good ride in the Chilterns that day. Thank you for your company.
I am no fan of the Slipstream Garmin team kit but it looks positively ghastly alongsidethe yellow and red of the Pinarello. What was Sir Alan thinking?
And where are those handlebars pointing? If he isn't riding on the drops then he shouldn't even have a 53 tooth chain ring fitted. He's fired.
